Mac likes to build things.  He built this sailboat from scratch.  Hand laid up fiberglass hull and all.  In 1986 Mac and family put the house up for sale and headed down the Missouri River from Omaha Nebraska.  Mac, Kim, and 14 year old John.  What a trip!  They ended up in Cape Coral, FL. after three and a half months of "living aboard."   Here she is seen on a Nebraska lake getting the first test sail.

"If it's worth doing, it's worth doing well." is something Mac often heard from his father.  Here is a project Mac built for a "paying" customer.  The best kind, right?  "Walnut is my favorite wood to work." says Mac.

Guess it's time to mention that Mac, like his boss, flys.  Another mid-west boy with a dream to one day fly that has made it come true!  Mac just has this silly idea that you don't need an engine to soar like a Eagle.  Longest flight: five hours and ten min.  Highest flight: 18,300 feet above sea level.  Longest distance: 101 miles.  Pictured is a 1964 Schweizer 1-23H15 single seat sailplane.  Mac and his co-owner bought it from a little lady that only flew it on weekends.  For real!

After a few years of being a "Glider" pilot Mac decided to add the Airplane rating.  After all, he says he, "Has great respect for the Wright brothers inventing the tow plane."  Here Mac stands beside a Piper Pawnee the soaring club tows gliders with.  Mac has been flying the Pawnee, towing up gliders for four years now.
